Champions for Kids: Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures #Colgate4Kids

Attention Central Arkansas readers! Right now, at your local, participating, Central Arkansas Walmart there is a great opportunity for you to give back to your local community.

Champion for Kids: Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures has teamed up with Walmart and area elementary schools to provide toothbrushes and toothpaste to children in need. Colgate is going to match our donations (up to 10,000 toothbrushes) to help our local children that are in need.

On your next Walmart trip, look for the large sign near the entrance.  It tells you exactly what to do!

Walmart has placed a bin that is full of toothbrushes and toothpaste for you to just grab and checkout:

Or you can head to the toothpaste isle and make your selection there:

I got my kids involved and allowed them to pick out their favorites.  John David loves Dora the Explorer and he selected Colgate toothbrushes with Dora and Diego.

After you checkout, there is a handy bin located on your way out to drop off your purchases.  Of course, John David couldn’t wait and dropped his toothbrushes in before I could snap the picture.

I know a lot of us cannot grasp this, but going to the dentist for routine checkups is a luxury.  Once, while I was volunteering at Evan’s elementary school, I overheard a conversation between the school nurse and a parent.  A child had fever, but the parent couldn’t afford the gas to drive to the nearest doctor’s office (20 miles away).  If local people are struggling to get their children to the doctor when they are sick, they surely don’t have the means to take them to the dentist for routine checkups.  Champions for Kids is doing their part by providing fun toothbrushes and toothpaste, but they need our help! Get involved: do your part by donating and share this with your friends!

You can follow Colgate on Facebook and Twitter and keep up with the Champions for Kids campaign on Facebook and Twitter also!
