My Weekly Training Log {Marathon Training Week 9}

Well, week 9 is over.  It was a pretty good week.

On Monday, my weekly short run was fun.


There was a torrential downpour on Wednesday, so I ran on the treadmill.  I did a 7 mile tempo run.  It was super boring.


You will be so proud.  On Thursday and Friday, I completed a cross training workout video.  It is pretty much a all body workout with some plyo moves thrown in for fun.



I normally complete my long run on Saturday, but I was not mentally engaged.  I put on my running clothes, but I did not want to run, so I postponed it until Sunday.  After church, I ran.  It was pretty good.  My hip started bugging me and I got behind on calories around mile 11 and I wanted to quit.  I stretched, ate double, kept running, and everything worked out.  I ran 18 really slow miles.  I am kind of embarrassed at how slow I was, but hey, I kept running.


You know, I have always had a problem with 18 mile runs.  I would rather run 16 or 20.  I don’t know what it is about 18 miles that psychs me out, but I need to get over it…
