Last week was good. I practiced a little better time management skills and moved a run to a different day and it all seemed to work out. My right knee did begin to hurt a little, but it has eased off with no anti-inflammatory required. I will just slow my pace down next week and see if that helps.
Sunday:
I rested
Monday:
I ran 3 miles in 26:01 with an average pace of 8:39 minutes/mile. My average heart rate was 159 bpm.
Tuesday:
I ran 6 miles in 55:36 with an average pace of 9:15 minutes/mile. My average heart rate was 161 bpm. I ran this on Feaster Trail. Aaron took the boys to school, so I was able to run and shower before my 9:30 class! The folks that set next to me were quite happy.
Wednesday:
I rested.
Thursday:
I rested and moved this run to Friday. I had a horribly busy day at school and I knew I would not get to fit a run in.
Friday:
I ran 6 miles in 59:22 with an average pace of 9:53 minutes/mile. My average heart rate was 157 bpm. This is when my knee started hurting, but only for the first half mile then it eased up and I ran the remainder at a little slower pace.
Saturday:
I ran 12 miles in 2:08:16 with an average pace of 10:41 minutes/mile. My average heart rate was 147 bpm. I took it easy and skipped the trails and ran a hilly route instead. My knee didn’t hurt until the 11th mile and oddly quit after about a half mile. Weird, but I am not complaining. The run felt good even after running 6 miles the day before. Also, I did not jump in the ice bath after this long run. I have been doing some reading and I am going to try to limit my ice time to see if the theories are correct. Still too early to tell if this will hurt or help me…
What do you think?
