Biggest Loser Blogger {Week 1}

I am joining a weekly link up to help me finally reach my goal of a BMI of 20 (128 pounds).  I have worked very hard over the last year and a half and lost of total of 54 pounds, but these last 9 have been the hardest to shed.  I know exactly why they are sticking around.  I have a huge problem of snacking after dinner.  It seems like I can eat perfectly on schedule all day long, but for some reason at 7pm, I want to eat everything in the fridge.  Granted, I binge on almonds, raisins and almond butter covered rice cakes, but healthy binging is still binging.  I get bored at night or I am studying and I don’t have anything else to think about.

So here it is, I weigh 137 pounds (BMI of 21.5) as of this morning and I want to get rid of the last 9 by the end of this little challenge.

Why do I want to lose 9 more pounds? Three reasons.  First, Over the past year I have gotten pretty serious about running.  Every pound you carry slows you down.  I am not the fastest runner in the world, but if I can shave a few seconds off of each mile, why not?  I want to be the best runner I can be.  Second, I want Evan and John David to know that their Mother works hard and doesn’t give up or settle.  Folks say that boys marry women like their mother and I want them to look for a woman that values determination and strength. Third, I am vain.  I’m not going to lie, I want to look like a sexy fox.  I don’t want to look like a 31 year old, mother of two; I want to look like a 25 year old NFL cheerleader (minus the fake boobs, huge hair, and excessive makeup).

Hopefully by getting this in public with people watching, I will ditch the remaining jiggle once and for all.  If you have any questions about how I lost the first 54, feel free to email me or tweet me.

  8. Stopping by from the link up! I have trouble binging after dinner too, and also on the weekends. For me, it’s because those are the times that I have more down time and to be “busy” I eat. I guess knowing what I do is the first step towards fixing it. Good luck with the last 9 pounds – that’s awesome!!

  9. How awesome that you’ve already lost 54 pounds! Congratulations, that’s amazing! I soooo understand what you’re saying. I have two boys myself, and I really want to set a good example for them. Plus, I had them a little later in life (I was 37 when my youngest was born – he’s now 9), so I want to make sure I’m around for them as long as possible.

    I’m sure you’ll be able to shed those last few pesky pounds!
