This was a blah week. This is last week of classes and the stress is starting to mount.
I weighed in at 136.5 lbs. I went for a 4 mile walk. I felt a little stiff and I just needed to stretch my legs.
I ran 2 miles in 18:09 on the tread mill. My average pace was 9:04 minutes/mile.
I hopped on the stationary bike at the gym and rode 15 miles on the cross country setting in 1:09:45. The only thing I don’t like about the stationary bike is that there are no hills to coast down, but I can read my notes while peddling away, so I guess there is a bonus.
I ran 6 miles in 1:00:47. My average pace was 10:08 minutes/mile. This was an awful run mentally. That evil voice in my head kept telling me that I wasn’t strong enough to complete my planned 16 mile long run for Saturday. I really have to shut her up.
I ran 16 miles in 2:53:22 and climbed 1,065 feet. My average pace was 10:50 minutes/mile. I ran the whole 16 miles very comfortably. I was so relieved on the way back. I ate two gels and 1 banana on the run. I am going to try and add more and more “real” food during these long runs. I think eating real food will make me feel stronger when I head into my ultra distances.
