Week 6 Recap {Half Marathon Training}

Week 5 Recap

I cannot believe that I just completed week 6 of the training program.  Wow, I feel kind of accomplished.  Only 10 weeks to go.

Monday
2 mile easy run at 10:58 minutes/mile.  I ran this at an easy going pace of 9:25 minutes/mile and finished in 18:54.

Wednesday
7 mile speed work workout.  1 mile warm up, 3×1600 in 8:51 with 800 jogs, 1 mile cool down.  I completed this day on the dread mill and finished in 1:08:30.

Thursday
2 mile easy run at 10:58 minutes/mile.  Ran a comfortable average pace of 10:49 minutes/mile and finished in 21:39.

Saturday
9 mile long run at 10:58 minutes/mile.  This was a nice long run.  This is the furthest I have ever ran.  It was really amazing.  My body is surprising me every time I hit the pavement.  I ran a totally different route in the city of Benton, that was a mistake.  I finished in 1:39:04, that is an average pace of 11:00 minutes/mile, 2 seconds shy of my proposed pace.  I will do better next week.

I also rode 33 miles on my mountain bike.  I love that little sucker, but I still love running more.
