After being dumb last week, I just stuck to the plan and was a good girl this week. Kind of, no stupid, hilly routes, but you’ll see what I did on Thursday that could’ve ended bad.
Monday
3 mile easy run at 11:05 minutes/mile. I ran this on the dread mill, so I finished at the correct time of 33:00.
Wednesday
5 mile tempo run with 1 mile warm up, 3 miles at 9:28 minutes/mile, and 1 mile cool down. I also did this on the dread mill, so I could make sure I ran the right pace and finished in 49:43.
Thursday
2 mile easy run at 11:05 minutes/mile. I guess I am allowed one stupid thing per week. I didn’t want to wake up early and I didn’t want to stick around at school, so I ran at home. The only problem is that it was 1:27 PM and 102 degrees when I started. I knew I had to get it done, so I just ran. It was hot and I just wanted to get back inside, so I ran an average of 9:25 minutes/mile and finished in 18:49.
Saturday
8 mile long run at 11:05 minutes/mile. I didn’t run hard, but I didn’t run the correct pace either. It felt good and there was only 2 big hills on this route. I learned my lesson from last week. I averaged 10:49 minutes/mile and finished in 1:26:33.
Week 3 is over and I only have 13 weeks to go. I am excited about the race and it feels good to gradually be making gains. I added another mile to my weekly totals, but I don’t feel dead. I feel fabulous.
